New Class - Unexpected Underachievement 

Being smart does not guarantee being able to read.  Unexpected Underachievement presents what it takes to be a successful reader and why some students have trouble learning to read. 
 
Topics include:
  • models of literacy acquisition,
  • domains of language,
  • characteristics of dyslexia,
  • accommodations, and
  • effective teaching practices. 
 
This class is for educators interested in or responsible for instruction of students at risk for or with dyslexia.  

This class is NOT appropriate for those who have completed the Basic Language Skills class.
 
Dates Currently Available:
  • Monday, June 14, 2010 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • Monday, August 9, 2010 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
