Lenox M. Reed Seminar

The Lenox M. Reed Seminar is an in-person event and annual CEU opportunity made possible by Neuhaus Education Center. The seminar featured was held Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at The Junior League of Houston, Inc. Featuring prominent researchers, authors, and other literacy experts as speakers, the seminar also honored the Neuhaus’ Dyslexia Specialist Preparation Program graduates.

The event welcomed Dr. Erin Baumgartner, Director of the Houston Education Research Consortium at Rice University’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research. Baumgartner’s topic, “Supporting Long-Term Emergency Bilingual/ English Learner Students,” discussed the importance of centering the needs of EB/EL students in planning and considering how doing so will benefit students and our entire community.
