Structured Literacy Modules

The Neuhaus Structured Literacy Modules are a set of 15 modules that discuss the components of evidence-based, structured literacy instruction.

It is the only non-certification Neuhaus course that covers a variety of essential literacy topics in a single class. The modules are not attached to any curriculum.

The modules provide:

  • Why the components of structured literacy are necessary for developing skilled readers; and
  • How these components can be practically applied during direct instruction

The modules cover:

  • The foundations of reading;
  • The sound system of English and beginning to read words;
  • Teaching phonics and fluency;
  • Teaching vocabulary and comprehension;
  • Teaching writing;

  • Ethical standards

The modules are great for:
