Specialist Preparation Program (SPP)

Neuhaus Tier III Program

International Dyslexia Association

Neuhaus Education Center’s Tier III program provides extensive coursework and supervised practica leading to certification for teachers and therapists working with individuals with dyslexia and other related disorders. Basic Language Skills is the core curriculum of the program and is taught primarily through two comprehensive classes.

The Neuhaus Tier III program is recognized by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA), accredited by the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC), meets requirements for Texas licensure, and meets criteria for membership in the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA).

The Level 1 Tier III Program prepares individuals to become Dyslexia Practitioners, while the Level 2 Tier III Program prepares individuals to become either Reading Therapists or Dyslexia Therapists.

SPP Level 1 Practitioner

Specialist Preparation Program – Level 1 Requirements

A continuous cycle of preparation completed in 12-30 months
Leading to a Certification from ALTA as a Certified Academic Language Practitioner

SPP Level 2 Therapist

Specialist Preparation Program – Level 2 Requirements

A continuous cycle of preparation completed in 30-60 months – A Master’s degree is required
Leading to a Certification from ALTA as a Certified Academic Language Therapist
